The Sublime Toolkit is a self-learning resource designed to help young people develop the skills, values, and capacities needed to drive community-based climate action. Produced in 2025 by Impact Hub Network and Impact Hub Athens, the toolkit is part of the EU co-funded SUBLIME project, supported under the DEAR (Development Education and Awareness Raising) programme. Following an “inside-out” approach, it guides youth from personal awareness to collective action, emphasising that meaningful climate initiatives start with cultivating inner growth and responsibility.
Rooted in the Inner Development Goals (IDG) framework, the toolkit helps young people strengthen self-awareness, empathy, critical thinking, collaboration, and leadership - essential qualities for advancing climate justice. Through practical activities, reflective prompts, and real-world case studies, participants gain the skills to design and implement initiatives that address local climate challenges while promoting inclusion and sustainable change.
This toolkit serves as a hands-on guide for youth eager to make a tangible difference in their communities while building the inner capacities necessary for a sustainable and resilient future.
The toolkit is organised into seven chapters, providing a clear progression from individual growth to community impact:
Being – Building self-awareness and mindfulness
Thinking – Developing critical thinking and systems thinking skills
Relating – Enhancing empathy and care for others and the environment
Collaborating – Strengthening teamwork and social skills
Acting – Designing and implementing community-level climate initiatives
It provides practical tools - exercises, reflection prompts, templates, and checklists - for planning campaigns, advocacy, and community projects. Real-world youth-led case studies show how ideas become tangible impact, while its interdisciplinary approach combines climate science, social innovation, civic engagement, and leadership development to guide aspiring changemakers.
The SUBLIME project unites eleven European countries, focusing on border towns and islands that face unique sustainability challenges. By engaging a wide range of partners - including local authorities, civil society organisations, and youth networks - the project fosters cross-border cooperation, strengthens local capacity, and empowers young people to take leadership roles in climate justice and sustainable development.
