Ioanna Drousiotou works at the “Hope For Children” CRC Policy Center, as a Senior Clinical Psychologist at the Children's House. She graduated from the University of Warwick (U.K.) with a BSc M.O.R.S.E. (Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics) and BSc Psychology and continued her studies at the University of Nicosia, obtaining an MSc in Clinical Psychology.
Some of her duties are specialized psychological assessment, report writing, court appearances as an expert witness, and implementation of therapeutic interventions, risk assessment and crisis intervention in cases of children who are suspected to have been sexually abused. In addition, she takes part in supporting the child's family as well as participating in interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary teams regarding each case. She ensures the evaluation of services and audits related to the services provided and the research agenda including the reporting of results. In cooperation with external partners of the Organization, she participated in the development, implementation and training of the psycho-educational tool “Πάμε Δικαστήριο/Kids in Court Game", which aims to create a child-friendly judicial experience. Moreover, she represents the Organization in educational activities and public awareness activities and assumes duties as lead of teams in relevant work areas.
Part of her training includes Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Play Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Combined Parent-Child Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CPC-CBT) and forensic interviewing. In addition, she holds certificates of professional use of the psychometric tools Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI-III-GR), Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V-GR), ASEBA - Achenbach System for Empirically Based Assessment of School Age and Athena test (Diagnosis of learning difficulties in children).
Lastly, she served as secretary general of the Pancypriot Association of Psychologists (PASYPSY), she been appointed as a Family Counselor by the Republic of Cyprus and is a member of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS). She has also taught an introductory course in Psychology for several semesters at a college in Cyprus.
