Social worker
Alexandra Iacovidou Kameri works at "Hope For Children" CRC Policy Centre as a Social Worker at the "Children's House" since June 1st, 2017. She is responsible of providing services to sexual abuse cases, like social support and rehabilitation services to children and their families.
She holds a degree in Social Work from the Higher Technological Institute of Crete. Furthermore, she was also trained at Family/Systemic Psychotherapy and Counselling for four years.
During her studies, she did her practicum as a Social Worker to public kindergartens, schools and retirement homes. She also worked with persons with special needs (downs syndrome, autism) during her training as a Social Worker.
For a seven year period (2009-2016) she worked on a daily basis to public schools of Nicosia, specifically in Technical Schools, as a School Social Worker through a program managed by the Ministry of Education. The aim of the program was intervention in order to avoid school failure, to tackle juvenile delinquency, as well as the early dropping out of school.
