“Hope For Children” CRC Policy Center is excited to launch a new initiative in the framework of its Chairs of the CRC Policy Center programme – an online space themed Children’s Rights Matters in which Hope For Children will publish news from the Chairs related to their work on the protection and promotion of children’s rights.
The Chairs programme is a network of academics based at universities and research centers around the world, who are committed to the promotion, protection and provision of children’s rights in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. It provides a unique platform for exchange of knowledge, capacity building, and advocacy. The aim of the initiative is to promote the subject of the rights of children in the academic community through collaboration among its members, as well as stakeholders beyond academia through the networks and activities of the Chairs and Hope For Children.
A key aspect of the programme is the promotion of child participation, ensuring that children’s perspectives are integrated into research, teaching, and policy initiatives, thereby upholding their right to be heard. The programme encourages international collaboration by establishing connections among universities, research centers, and organizations worldwide, facilitating joint projects, knowledge exchange, and access to international funding opportunities. Finally, the Chairs disseminate knowledge globally, sharing insights and resources through conferences, workshops, publications, newsletters, blogs, and other platforms, engaging both academic and non-academic audiences.
Through these objectives, the Chairs program seeks to combine academic excellence with practical impact, promoting, safeguarding, and advancing children’s rights across diverse contexts.
The current holders of the Chairs of the CRC Policy Center are based in Croatia, Denmark, Italy, Nigeria, Portugal, Romania, the United Kingdom, and the Unites States of America.
